Escaping the pandemic

Many of us have experienced a lockdown because of the pandemic. When you are addicted to outdoor exploration, it can be a source of huge frustration. Between the summer of 2020 and the spring of 2021, I did my best to escape the restrictions established everywhere. I started the journey by taking a deep breath of fresh air, without a mask, in the mountains of the Dolomites in Italy. But very soon, I had to find a better refuge. The Canary Islands in the North Atlantic seemed promising: Few restrictions, no more tourists, a natural environment conducive to exploration, and an exceptionally pure sky suitable for stargazing. If you are an amateur astronomer like me, it is ideal for letting the storm of the pandemic pass.
