In 2020 I packed up for a great adventure in Namibia. This country of southern Africa is one of those with the lowest population density on earth. Several reasons brought me to this destination. Namibia has exceptional wildlife, the oldest desert on the planet, and climatic conditions that make it one of the three best destinations in the world for stargazing. On this occasion, I also had the mission to produce photo and video content for a French start-up designing connected telescopes (Vaonis.com). Things didn't go quite as planned as I was contaminated by COVID in the plane that took me to Namibia. I had to stay in isolation in a hospital room for 50 days. When I eventually got out, the world had closed its borders, and no more planes were flying. I couldn't return to my home country. Despite this misadventure, I was presented with a unique opportunity: discovering this country emptied of all its tourists. And it was probably one of my most exciting explorations.
